Summer cooking with Prawns and Garlic!

If you are a seafood lover, I bet most of you drool over a plate of freshly cooked prawns. Many who have cooked seafood can very well relate to prawns as the king of seafood both in terms of the simplicity in cooking, time to cook and the mouth watering taste it leaves after a satisfying meal. Here are some garlic prawns recipes to impress your guests and to entice the meat lovers to taste this king of seafood.

Summer cooking with Prawns and Garlic!

Course Snacks
Cuisine continental

Ingredients

  • 700 gms of prawns peeled and deveined
  • 4 table-spoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic nicely minced
  • 1 tea-spoon chilli flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tea-spoon pepper powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan. Then add garlic chilli to the pan. This needs to be heated for 3-4 minutes over medium heat.
  2. You would get nice garlic aroma once the garlic is done and turns slightly brown. Now add prawns to the pan and increase the heat to high.
  3. After cooking it for 3-4 minutes you will notice the prawns turning slight pink. Continuously stir and cook for some more time till the prawns are well cooked.
  4. Sprinkle some peeper powder and remove from heat. Sprinkle some finely chopped parsley for garnishing.

Recipe Notes

Note - This recipe can even be prepared with butter instead of olive oil. Butter too gives a nice aroma to this dish.

Ingredients

  • 700 gms of prawns peeled and deveined
  • 1 table-spoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic nicely minced
  • 50 gms butter
  • ½ tea-spoon oregano

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan and olive oil and butter and heat it.
  2. After a minute add minced garlic and oregano to it and let it fry lightly for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Then preheat the barbecue and oil the cooking grate. Then have the prawns laid properly on a tray and brush them nicely with the butter mixture prepared on the saucepan.
  4. Now just grill the prawns till golden in color.

Ingredients

  • 700 gms of prawns peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves of garlic nicely minced
  • 4 cloves of garlic nicely minced
  • 1 cup of chicken stock
  • 60 gms butter
  • 1 table-spoon of all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of fresh cream
  • 1 table-spoon of finely chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and minced garlic in a saucepan for a couple of minutes.
  2. Then add the flour to this mixture and stir continuously till mixed well.
  3. Then remove it from heat. Add slowly the chicken stock and cream to this preparation and stir till mixed well.
  4. Again bring the saucepan to heat and boil the chicken stock mixture till it becomes thick. Add salt and pepper to this mixture.
  5. Now add prawns to this mixture and let it boil for 5 minutes or till properly cooked.
  6. Once done add parsley to this and serve hot."

Recipe Notes

You can even fry the prawns before putting in the chicken stock mixture to get that little crispy texture in the prawns.
